Dear Friends, For the past two weeks, we have been meeting back at the chapel for prayer meeting and the Breaking of Bread worship meeting. This coming Sunday, July 12, we will be adding the Bible Hour, but not Sunday school classes until probably the first Sunday in August. However, the children may come and sit with you in the meetings. The Breaking of Bread is as usual from 9:30am to 10:30 am where the Lord asks us to remember Him. We will not have the usual refreshments until 11am. so the Bible Hour will begin about 10:45-10; 50 and will be shorter than usual with only a couple of hymns to begin. Andrew Palmer will be the speaker this Sunday. The seating is marked off to observe social distancing, but there should be plenty of room and we do look forward to seeing many of you who have not been able to be with us for the past 4 months. Please wear a mask as you enter and leave. We look forward to seeing many of you.
COVID-19 Response
To the Believers at Blasdell,
With careful consideration and prayer, we as elders, have thought it best to address you all concerning COVID-19. COVID-19 is rapidly growing and changing the world around us. We firmly believe that the Lord is in control, and we would encourage other believers of like-minded faith to trust the sovereign God of the universe for direction. That being said, we would encourage you all to be in prayer about the virus and the effects it is having on the world around us.
Due to further restrictions from the government, the brethren feel that all meetings should be canceled until further notice. Please use this time to pray for wisdom for all who must make decisions which affect all the people, and for those who will be affected by it, whether by loss of work and salary, or by being forced to stay home to care for children who would otherwise be in school, etc. Let us know if anyone is really in need of help.
We will submit to government authority, and recommend that we all follow the guidance given to us by those appointed by our Lord. Please reach out to us with any questions, and know that the situation may change rapidly due to the uncertain effect of the virus on our community.
Lastly, we would encourage all of the believers at Blasdell to stay home if they are not feeling well. In addition, according to the Center for Disease Control if you are over the age of 60 you are at greater risk of contracting COVID-19, and even greater risk of the sickness being fatal if you have Heart Disease, Diabetes, or Lung Disease. Please use wisdom in your decisions!
Love in Christ,
The elders
